Salutis Permit

Zone diagram showing active permit details

A database application for creating and controlling Contractor Authorisations (general permit) and Permits-to-Work. An integrated solution with a Tablet PC means that permits can be raised at the place of work.

Information from Salutis Tracker is extended into Salutis Permit to allow the permit authoriser to evaluate the contractor’s suitability and even prevent issue of a permit to someone who is not competent.

In its simplest form this level of control is reflecting the contractor’s ‘approved’ status. Approval would normally depend on criteria such as site induction, adequate and current insurance, compliance with environmental, health and safety policies etc.

Greater levels of control can be achieved throughout the permit issuing process, permit details cannot be altered after issue/creation. The database structure also gives traceability of the permit user, performing authority, issuing authority.

Permit Templates

Permit templates are created to match the client’s existing paper based system. This reduces the training element and means the workforce are working with a system they are already familiar with.

Communication & Integration

Salutis Permit works with Salutis Workspace for a completely integrated solution*. Current versions of the permits (in PDF format) are automatically updated to the Workspace giving awareness and ‘visibility’ to all.

*This feature can be enabled by the User but requires Microsoft® Office Groove® 2007 and the User to have a Groove identity.

Salutis Permit

A general work authorisation, or specific permit-to-work for high risk activities, should be issued to contractors whilst working on a client’s site. Authorisations and permits of this type require that the contractor be competent (they have sufficient skills and knowledge) to carry out the specified tasks.

Tablet PC from Motion Computing

Mobile Solution

Salutis Permit incorporates Tablet PC functionality enabling permits to be assessed, reviewed and completed at the place of work. This should be considered as an essential requirement of any electronic permit-to-work system.

Signatures are captured electronically and encrypted. The signatures are not stored as digitised images and can only be displayed on the document they were originally signed against. This therefore gives a high level of security to the signer and maintains the document integrity.
